Due to COVID-19, schools are shutdown worldwide, leaving parents and children stuck at home, and after a couple months, running out of activities. These days, the young ones are at home, whereas they would typically be in school under the direction of their teachers.
While many parents and teachers alike have adapted well to the current situation and have been great at keeping the children busy and well entertained, there’s still only so much to do when confined to the house.
For parents and kids who feel they have exhausted every means of occupying theirs and their kids’ time, Gaia Flowers has an awesome and enlightening new idea: Garden Crafts for Kids!
Currently there are three kit options available, which are fun, exciting, educational and appropriate for various age groups and school levels.
Kid’s Garden Project
The Kid’s Garden Project allows parents to start their own garden with their young learners. In this craft activity, kids can enjoy planting seeds, observing and recording changes in the plant life cycle using their journals alongside. A container, soil, cilantro, and 2 page worksheet are included.
Kid’s Design Their Own
In the Kid’s Design Their Own activity, kids use a mason jar, waxflower, lilies, and greens to create and design their own flower arrangements (all included in the kit). Learners can cut and arrange the elements as they wish, reading along with the worksheet that explains the different parts of the flower.
Kid’s Succulent Project
For middle schoolers (6th-8th grade), the Kid’s Succulent Project is another fun, wonderful, and educational experience. This kit includes potting media, 3 succulent plants, a box for planting, sheet moss, stones for decorating, and a worksheet. At any age, kids love working with their hands and being actively engaged.
Each of these activities are projects parents and kids can keep and treasure forever or give away as gifts. Flowers and plants make for beautiful home décor for home interior or exterior.
The finished products can serve as great memories that families can take pride in, knowing that they shared the gardening experience together. They can also have the joy of giving away something that they took the time to make themselves.
During these uncertain times when all that can be done is wait for life to return to some sort of normal again, families can enjoy wholesome, quality time together. Although children are not in school, they can still learn in fun, safe environments. Families need not lose hope for lack of positive things to do. Gaia Flowers has just what they need for entertaining, innovative garden craft ideas.
