In preparation for our upcoming April Community Workshop, we caught up with our lovely host Maggie Verderame to get an idea of what we can look forward to in a tea tasting. This is what she had to say…
I’m Maggie Verderame, maker of Magareeshi Teas. Magareeshi Teas are 100% organic and made by hand with fair trade ingredients. They’re packaged in recyclable pouches and made with lots of love, joy, yoga, and singing in my Cottage Foods Certified kitchen!
I loooooooooooove tea! Seriously. Love it!
✴ Warm during chilly months.
✴ Chilly during warm months.
✴ Loose leaf. Organic.
✴ Natural herbal goodness for boosting and/or healing.
✴ The lovely ritual of pouring steamy water over the gorgeous bounty of leaves and then enjoying a moment while watching
them unravel as if they were blossoming just for you!
YES! I love it all!!
I don’t love a high price tag for organic, loose leaf teas — even though I absolutely honor what it takes to grow, harvest, distribute and blend the leaves and herbs. I’m also not thrilled by the limited amount of truly delicious herbal blends readily available for anyone, any age to enjoy. I feel about tea the way I feel about yoga: it should be fun and easy for everyone to enjoy on a daily basis.
I imagine if you are reading this, you feel the same.
We could be fast friends.
So, join me at Gaia for a FREE tea tasting on April 7th. We will taste all 14 teas in my line consisting of whimsical and healing blends as well as discuss the various healing properties of the herbs in my line. Teas — and other pretty, handmade goodies inspired by yoga — will be available for purchase, but there is no obligation. Just come, sip, savor and smile with me and get your tea groove on. Whether you’re a novice, or a lifelong lover of the leaves, this will be a tearrific morning!
You can catch up with Maggie at various local farmers markets and festivals, on Facebook and Instagram @magareeshi, online at magareeshi.com, or, if you can’t find her
elsewhere, she’s probably in her kitchen.
